Sally Williams, Fiber Artist
By day, I am a hydrologist. By night, I am a Fiber Artist.

I developed my passion for fish when I was a young kid. I kept pet fish growing up. I studied fish in school. I have a Masters Degree in Vertebrate Paleontology.
I have crafted my entire life. Growing up, I learned sewing, embroidery, woodworking, calligraphy, painting, drawing, silversmithing, ceramics, and fused glass. I dabbled in quilting a couple times while I was in graduate school, but it didn't stick. Quilting and knitting became a big part of my life in late 2009 when my daughter was 18 months old and I needed something to do that was quiet after she went to bed. I needed something that made something tangible and long lasting, something that didn't just feel like I was killing time playing video games. The passion grew. I learned how to long-arm my quilts on a rental machine and I did that for five years before we bought a house with enough space for one of my own. In 2017, I got my long-arm and haven't looked back.
