It is Quilt Block Mania Time Again. This months theme is barn blocks. We have barns around here but I never saw them painted with quilt blocks until I went with my husband to a family reunion in Indiana when we were first married. I thought that this was just a neat way to decorate the barn and make one stand out from another.
My state of New Mexico has a barn block tour associated with the county fair down in Lincoln county. You can go to Roswell and see barn blocks and you can see aliens at the same time. There are some pretty ones on the tour. This is not a block that is inspired by the any of the blocks on the tour, but in a way it does. This is a traditional block, with it is simple lines it can have a modern feel based on the fabrics you use. I re-imagined how to put it together just using half square triangles.
